Tshepang, The Third Testament
“Tshepang”(Say-pang) means hope.–Outside a South African town a silent woman, Ruth, goes through her self-imposed rituals, a child’s crib strapped to her back. An observer, Simon, who has loved Ruth since childhood, tells her story and the story of this town where “nothing ever happens”, until it does. Devastating, tragic, but also reverent and irreverent by turns, romantic and even funny, “Tshepang” is a must-see.
Join this special collaborative presentation with sister Gainesville theater The Actors’ Warehouse. There will be a small pre-show reception and a talk back with the actors after the show.
This show was selected as the theater conference winner in Florida, the Southeast and now the country. Actors’ Warehouse has been invited to represent the entire USA at the Mondial du Theatre in Monaco in August 2017.
The Gainesville Community Theater congratulates everyone involved with the “Tshepang” production and is proud to sponsor this fundraiser in support of this accomplishment.
Tickets for this special benefit performance are $30 each with all proceeds going to support getting cast and crew to Monaco.
