This energetic revue-style musical is a compilation of songs of personal discovery, varying from ballads to pop to R&B. Each "story song" is a unique vignette portraying important crossroads in the lives of the characters. Dec. 3-12, 2005 Up NextThe Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged)An irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard's plays. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) presents all 37 plays in 97 minutes! Jan. 28 - Feb. 13, 2005. Construction UpdateClick here for an artist's rendering of our new theater. The contracts have been signed and we are awaiting the final go-ahead from the City of Gainesville. Stay Tuned! Audition InformationIf you would think you would like to try your hand at acting, we would love for you to come out. You do not need any experience, just the desire to perform. In general, you do not need to prepare anything to audition for a regular play, you will be asked to do what we call "cold readings." This means you will be given a bit of script and asked to act out the scene with a few other people as best you can. On occasion, some directors will ask that you come with a prepared monologue, check here or in Scene Magazine in the Gainesville Sun for the audition announcement. For musicals, it's a bit different in that you are asked to come to the audition prepared to sing 16 measures of a song of your choosing. A piano player will be available to accompany you. Occasionally, for some musicals there also is a dance audition. But again, you do not need to be an accomplished dancer (at least for chorus roles), our choreographers can work wonders.Plus don't forget there are more ways to be involved than acting. We need stage crew, costume designers, set builders and ushers. If you are a musician we would particularly love to hear from you. We are always looking for volunteer musicians, especially piano players, to play in our bands that accompany our musicals. Send us an e-mail or call the theater for more info. While our theater is under construction at at 4013 N.W. 16th Blvd., we will be performing at our 2nd Stage facility located at the Northwood Village Shopping Center west of 34th Street on US 441.
