The production of the Gainesville Little Theatre "Skidding", is a three act comedy that was held at the High School Auditorium.
"A highly diverting travesty on home life is the plot that winds itself upon the family of Judge Hardy who seeks renomination as judge. His political campaign is interrupted by the hectic love affair of his youngest daughter, Marion, who comes home from college only to run for legislature; his other daughters, Estelle and Myra, who decide simultaneously that matrimony is not for them; his wife who finds housekeeping not as diverting in the 31st year as in the first; his son, Andy who possesses all the restless enthusiasm of 100 per cent American pep. together with his own troubles and that of his immediate family, the lacrimations of his sister-in-law, "Aunt Millie", are also added to the judge's everyday fare. The one bright light of the older generation is furnished by the lamp carried by Grandpa Hardy who is a philosopher of the old school, untarnished by Twentieth Century skepticism.
Between the second and third acts. Mrs. E. L. Caton, president of the Gainesville Little Theatre, spoke briefly to the audience explaining the real meaning of the purpose of the nucleus around which civic organizations may gain fresh impetus to greater things in the cultural field. During the evening an orchestra furnished by R. DeWitt Brown added to the pleasure of the entertainment. Ushers in orange and blue suits with swanky hats to match, sold sweets and smokes during the intermissions under the direction of Miss Willie Pearl Beville.
The lobby of the auditorium was decorated with the posters entered in the Little Theatre poster competition among freshmen students at the University of Florida School of Architecture and Allied Arts, together with rare palms and ferns."---Gainesville Daily Sun, May 11, 1932 and May 14, 1932
