GCP's production of

Icebound

January 24, 1935

Written by Owen Davis

 Directed by O. C. R. Stageberg

"A large crowd braved the weather to be on hand for the initial performance of the group this year, and nothing but praise could be heard as the audience filed out of the hall at the conclusion of one of the most creditable performances ever given by the local organization.
The fact that the play was presented in Memoriam to Howard Dykman, president of the group and director of the play at the time of his untimely passing, gave an added touch of feeling to the performance.
Against a stage setting that seemed to breath the cold and dreary atmosphere of New England the actors carried the watchers back into tan old rural home in Veazie, Maine, where they watched the reacting of a large family through the passing of the head of the group.
Headed by the veteran performer in local productions, James Chestnut, every member of the cast gave a praiseworthy performance." --- Les Barnhill, Gainesville Daily Sun
