GCP's production of

Finian's Rainbow

May 12 - 28, 1995

Music by Burton Lane

Book by E.Y.Harburg and Fred Saidy

Directed by Margery Pierson

The story was written to satirize an economic system that requires gold reserves to be buried at Fort Knox. Finian, an Irish immigrant, comes to Rainbow Valley, "Missitucky" to bury a crock of gold (stolen from a leprechaun)  which he is sure will grow and make him rich. Among a few of the great songs in the show are "How are Things in Glocca Morra?", "That Old Devil Moon," and "When I'm Not Near the Girl I Love."
